We have collected the most frequently asked questions that you ask us when considering an implementation of the whistleblowing software.
What is the benefit of using whistleblowing?
The whistleblowing reporting system enables the safe submission of a report by a whistleblower and secure communication between the parties. WeMoral system ensures anonymity and data security. Moreover, all cases and their solutions are registered and saved in the on-line panel, which ensures compliance with the EU Whistleblower Directive and other formal requirements.
Can reports be sent by the whistleblower only anonymously?
By default, we offer a completely anonymous reporting path - both in terms of the fact that the whistleblower does not provide any personal or contact details, and that we do not store any transmission data. Optionally, however, you can add form fields in which whistleblowers can enter their data.
How does the implementation of the whistleblowing software look like?
On the Standard plan you order online and the reporter-facing form is live in under 5 minutes - the company profile, branding, and intake fields are configured in the panel itself, no contract needed. On the Enterprise plan our team builds out the configuration with you, including custom domains and SSO, and the channel is usually live within a few working days.
What fields does the submission form contain and can I change them?
We prepare the input form based on the guidelines of the company, or we suggest a default range of form fields. The form can be adapted to the needs of the company, both in terms of the scope of questions and the form (multiple-choice fields, single-choice fields, date fields, etc.). It is also possible to add attachments.
Is sending attachments in whistleblowing reports safe?
Attachments added to reports are scanned with the use of current virus databases and additional verifications are carried out to confirm the security of the files sent. Any metadata that could enable identifying the whistleblower is also removed from the attachments.
How many employees can access the panel and solve cases?
The Standard plan covers up to 5 management-panel users and the Enterprise plan removes the limit entirely. Each user is bound to a role - viewer, case handler, administrator - so the same person can read cases, reply to whistleblowers, assign owners, or just watch the statistics, depending on what the role permits.
Are whistleblower repots secured?
WeMoral whistleblower service system was designed in the "security by default" formula. The content of reports and attachments is stored in an encrypted form (in accordance with the encryption market standards of asymmetric cryptography algorithms). Only people assigned to the appropriate role have access to the content of the tickets and to do this they must enter an individual decryption password (other than the login password). Each company has the ability to create user accounts and manage roles in line with their own security policies.
Is it possible to conduct further correspondence with the whistleblower?
Yes, WeMoral system enables secure and confidential communication between the parties. After sending the notification, the whistleblower receives a unique link and password that allows them to enter the webpage on which the conversation will be visible. This communication is encrypted and allows the whistleblower to stay safe and anonymous.
Is the whistleblower submission registry available?
Yes, one of the elements of WeMoral panel is the record of all submissions. The history of the solutions to all cases is also maintained. It is possible to view cases both in the form of a list of applications and a report with as charts.
Is the system compliant with the EU Whistleblower Directive?
Yes. WeMoral is built around the requirements of the EU Whistleblower Directive (2019/1937) - an anonymous reporting channel, secure two-way communication, encrypted storage, configurable retention, and a full audit trail. The directive has been transposed into national law across all 27 EU member states, and WeMoral satisfies the technical requirements those national acts share.
Where is the data stored, and how does GDPR apply?
All case data is stored on EU-hosted infrastructure in Frankfurt, Germany, and encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the case handlers your organisation designates; every read and write is logged. Retention windows are configurable per organisation, and once the statutory period expires the report, attachments, and message history can be securely deleted.
In how many languages is the reporting form available?
The reporter-facing form ships in 25 languages. Whistleblowers report in their own language and case handlers see the original message alongside a translation, so a multinational organisation can run a single channel without forcing employees to switch language to file a concern.
What protections does the system give a whistleblower against retaliation?
Identity confidentiality is the default - anonymous submissions leave no IP address, browser fingerprint, or session trail back to the reporter, attachments are stripped of metadata, and every read of a case is recorded in an audit trail. Case handlers operate under role-based access so only assigned staff see the content. Procedural retaliation protection (job security, legal remedies) sits in national law - Directive 2019/1937 mandates it across the EU, and WeMoral provides the technical layer those protections rely on.
Who can submit a report - only employees?
No. Directive 2019/1937 deliberately broadens the protected class beyond employees: former employees, job applicants, contractors, suppliers, freelancers, trainees, shareholders, and members of administrative or supervisory bodies are all covered. The reporting form has no employment check; anyone with the channel link can file a report.
Can we try the system before committing to a paid plan?
Yes - we offer a 60-day Demo plan with full access to PRO features, no credit card up front, no commitment. You can convert to a paid subscription at any point, or walk away at the end of the trial with no consequences.
